ACCESSIBILITY LEGISLATION TRAINING

With over 60 specific Deemed-To-Satisfy Provisions relating to toilets alone, disability access requirements can be daunting, overwhelming and confusing!

WHAT does accessible mean?

WHEN should access be addressed?

WHERE should accessible features be provided?

WHO needs access & WHO is responsible?

WHY???

HOW to achieve compliant access?

Have these questions answered – and more!

A professional development training session will equip those working in the construction industry with information about the relevant legislation including:

Sessions will include informative components on the key elements of legislative requirements, case examples and opportunities for participants to ask questions and solve design issues.

Participants can also engage in a practical workshop component considering the application of legislative requirements in real building scenarios. Training exercises will provide an awareness of the needs of people with a disability and give participants first-hand experience with overcoming non-compliances.

A professional development training session can be tailored to your specific role in the construction industry and to meet your organisation’s learning outcomes. Please contact us for an obligation free discussion on the training you are seeking.

DISABILITY AWARENESS TRAINING

It is unlawful to discriminate against people on the grounds of disability in areas such as access to premises, services, accommodation, education and employment. What does this mean for you? How can you improve your business to minimise discrimination and recognise the equitable rights of staff, customers/clients and the general public.

A professional development training session will empower you and your staff to work more effectively and confidently with people with a disability, and to explore strategies for establishing a disability-friendly workplace. Participants will be offered a general awareness of disability and focus on attitudinal and practical issues for people with disability.

Our training is intended to equip participants with information about obligations under the relevant legislation, increase awareness on the needs of people with a disability and explore how to address equitable access. Content may consist of a workshop looking at accessibility of your premises, planning to meet obligations through an action plan process, interaction skills for customer service and much more!

Participants can also engage in a practical workshop component with training exercises providing an awareness of the needs of people with a disability and giving participants first-hand experience in facing accessibility barriers.

A professional development training session can be tailored to your specific situation and to meet your organisation’s learning outcomes. Please contact us for an obligation free discussion on the training you are seeking.
